Rehabilitation covering a broad spectrum of health problems associated with the elderly is termed as Geriatric Physiotherapy.
Due to the aging process, the elderly has a bias of concerns pertaining to all the systems be it musculoskeletal system, nervous system or the cardiopulmonary system.
Essential manifestations seen in this age group are sensory impairments (especially of vision and hearing), risk of falls, improper balance, loss of mobility, depression, loss of function ultimately leading to inability to perform activities of daily living on their own.
